Who Should I Vote For?

“He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” – Daniel 2:21

Canada’s upcoming election may be one of the most important moments of our lifetime. Our country is at a crossroads, fighting a war between freedom, and the push towards the anti-christ system. While our hope is never placed in a man or a government to save us, the quality of our lives and that of future generations hangs in the balance.

If the wrong person is in power, does that mean all hope is lost? Absolutely not, because God’s work is not dependent on whoever the Prime Minister is. However, there’s a reason why religious freedom is different in different countries. Christians in Syria or Pakistan have a much more difficult time than those in America. Dismissing the importance of politics is a ploy from the devil that allows evil men to be in charge, with little to no resistance from the church.

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God.” – Romans 13:1

Government authorities are in place to uphold God’s moral law. They are not higher than God. If their law contradicts the commands in God’s word, our responsibility is to follow God’s command. If they do not uphold the law, it is our responsibility to challenge them. A government that breaks the law is transgressing against God. And if we comply, we are transgressing against God as well.

Many of the mandates we’re seeing implemented have been put in place under the guise of “keeping people safe”, but they are breaking the constitutional laws that exist in this country. Even if it can be proved that there are outstanding circumstances that should allow for these mandates, there is still legal process. And passing new laws with no debate, and no legal recourse or exemption, is breaking the law. The constitutional law cannot be changed arbitrarily.

So what is our course of action?

One very important factor to understand is that the people, in a democratic society, are in charge. They vote in, and vote out, government officials. Those officials work for us. Our taxes pay their salaries. The biggest problem that exists now is the lack of accountability, because the vast majority of politicians are all on the same side, and they suppress and silence anyone who is against them.

Perhaps the biggest trick that people have fallen for is believing that sacrificing personal freedom is necessary for overall safety. If this were strictly about a virus, perhaps somewhat of a case could be made. However, what is happening goes much deeper. The virus is merely the vehicle that the globalist, anti-christ system is driving.

“And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name.” – Revelation 13:17

What is the vaccine passport system? Preventing people who have not taken an injection from accessing public spaces, traveling, and eventually much more if it’s not stopped. Why should you be against this system? Because it represents the wickedness that the devil has planned for the great tribulation. It is the framework for the worst time in human history. The covid vaccine is not the mark of the beast, but it is serving as quite an accurate preview.

“From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.” – 1 Chronicles 12:32

I know this subject has become very polarizing in Christian circles, because while some discern these events as falling in line with Bible prophecy, others do not see it the same way. They instead believe the right thing to do is aim to protect our fellow man, and not fall prey to “misinformation.”

But when only one view is allowed to be known, and any other voice is shut down and dismissed, is that the best way to learn correct information? When the media leans so sharply to one side, and seeks to censor any other idea, is that not a warning sign? The truth should never be afraid of a lie, because the truth always comes out. But lies are terrified of being exposed.

For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. – Luke 8:17

There has been a lot of talk about how to vote in the upcoming election, if there should be a strategy employed to remove the current leadership. But the main opposition has essentially the same policies, just under a different name. Should we go with the lesser of two evils? There is also concern over “splitting the vote”, but that ultimately failed in 2019. So how should we vote, understanding the immense importance of the result?

We must seek the wisdom of God in this decision (Proverbs 1:7, James 1:5, Ecclesiastes 2:26, Proverbs 3:5).

Don’t fall into a trap thinking that elections aren’t important because “God is on the throne”. Yes, He is on the throne, but Bible history shows us that the leadership in a nation matters. If it matters to God, it should matter to us. And it does matter to God, or He wouldn’t have sent prophets to instruct kings on how they should live.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. – Proverbs 14:34

The decision of who to vote for should be a matter of prayer, and based on Biblical guidance. Not a decision fueled on emotion, or the opinions of others, or fear of consequences. I believe with all my heart that God will honor the decisions we make. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for a person whose policies are contrary to God’s nature.

He who walks in integrity and with moral character walks securely, But he who takes a crooked way will be discovered and punished. – Proverbs 10:9

God honors freedom (Galatians 5:1), not coercion, therefore so should we. And this not a selfish freedom, as many would lead you to believe. Rather, this is an understanding of the wicked agenda behind the mandates, and understanding that we can value those vulnerable among us while still honoring God-given freedom, law-abiding rights, and the ability to function as the church. Persecution for our faith is part of life yes, but opening the door to make it happen, and speeding up the process of the anti-christ agenda, is foolishness.

For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 2:16

I know it’s unsettling for many people to believe that they are being lied to, that government leaders are not on our side, and there is a system set up in this world to destroy us. I know for many it’s easier to deny that reality and justify their compliance by inserting Christian values. Again, these are the moments to seek the wisdom and understanding of God. As in a verse I mentioned earlier, to understand the times we’re living in.

When you vote, consider what you are voting for. Are you voting to uphold God’s intended family structure? Are you voting for free will? Are you voting for someone who values life? Are you voting to honor the laws in this nation? Are you voting for morality?

Above all else, one thing we always must remember is that God never forsakes His people (Psalm 37). God’s ear is not deaf to our cries (Isaiah 59:1). God will protect those who obey Him (Psalm 34).

But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. – Matthew 10:26

If God is for us, who can be against us? Whom shall we fear if God is on our side? We have an opportunity to stand up for what’s right, and God will honor decisions made with integrity. This is not the time of God’s judgement on the world, this is the time of God’s grace, the time for the church to advance and take ground for the kingdom (Matthew 16:18). He has always rescued His people, and He won’t stop now.

God isn’t caught off guard with everything that is happening, nor is He concerned. We need to trust in Him, lean on Him, and do what He instructs us to do. So don’t be afraid or worried about who is going to be elected. Do what is right, and you can’t go wrong.
